Disaster Services

The American Red Cross responds immediately to many disaster situations, including house or apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, explosions, blackouts and many other natural and man-made disasters.

The Red Cross focuses on meeting the immediate disaster-caused needs of the community and individuals. The core disaster relief is the assistance given to the affected individuals and families enabling them to resume their normal daily activities quickly.

The Red Cross Disaster Services also feeds and assists the emergency workers and handles inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster situation.
